Writing can extend ministry's reach in exciting and unexpected ways.

I discovered the ministry of writing one day when a sudden surgery left me flat on my back, unable to serve my beloved youth group. So, for a season, instead of leading games and teaching Bible studies, I offered reflections about my journey—both the good and the bad. Then I invited the volunteers, parents, and supporters who were reading my words to write back and share their journey with me.

And they did.

By writing about what God was doing in our lives, our ministry community was transformed.

Today, I'm a Seattle-based writer, editor, youth ministry leader, preacher, and mother of two with over 20 years of youth and family ministry experience throughout the US and UK. I'm also a seminary faculty member with an MDiv and DMin in spiritual formation and spiritual direction, and there’s nothing I like better than to inspire and equip people on the journey to knowing God more.
